I hope your all staying safe… As I said I have said previously I knowledge of when we will reopen and depending on which media source you watch or read it varies from July until January …In any event we must be prepared for the opening day…. Just to share the work and thoughts of the senior managers are currently doing as we get ready to open the health club side COVID 19 secure while still creating an environment that can be enjoyable.
- Creating a one-way system in and out of the building by installing a previously announced new front door
- Ordering full PPE for all staff including the face visas
- Installing hand wash sinks on each floor
- Installing hand sanitiser pouches and equipment cleaning materials every 3 meters in the whole facility
- Installing new toilet facilities on each floor of the mill to limit changing room use
- Installing and updating the fresh air ventilation systems in both the Cardio and Ladies only areas
- Utilising each stair turret for a one way, one upwards and one downwards
- To be ahead of the game we have ordered a 3-month supply of cleaning and hand sanitising products
- Creating a one-way system around the gyms and installing perspex screens where needed to restrict the amount of out of use equipment as per social distance guidelines
- Reviewing and updating cleaning and audit procedures
- Updating the club app so it can give us the option for members to book the gym/pool/ fire & ice spa sessions if we feel it’s needed in the early days as we take precautionary steps in the early days ….. IF YOU ARE A MEMBER AND HAVENT DOWNLOADED THE APP AS YET PLEASE DO AS IT WILL BE ESSSENTIAL IN THE EARLY DAYS!! The team are available Monday to Friday 10am-6pm on 01159461041
- Designing a fabulous new class timetable
- Reviewing whether to measure members / guests temp on entry
- We are currently providing staff with weekly training
- Reviewing the need for members wearing gloves and masks
I can guarantee it will be initially strange as we find the new normal. But I am confident we can create a sparkling clean environment that members and guests will have confidence to attend whenever it happens!
Before we do reopen the clubs health & safety director will do a full risk assessment working on government and industry guidelines.

As I have previously mentioned we are taking the closed opportunity to complete the pre-paid projects including the fabulous new refurbished reception…. The area will include a new entrance, reception desk, flooring, ceiling, lighting, and a large TV wall. We have also created the space for a small café area. The work is been carried out working within government guidelines and will be completed for when we reopen!
